DISK STACK SET

The Holy Chalice is the most ancient of the liturgical vessels, it symbolizes the Cup that Jesus gave to his Holy Apostles on the evening of the Last Supper, the mystery of the Holy Eucharist.

It was given to Joseph of Arimathea, one of Jesus' secret disciples. After the Crucifixion, when Joseph unfastened the God-Man from the cross with the cup he collected the blood and sweat of Jesus. Shortly thereafter Joseph was captured and imprisoned in a hewn tomb to die of hunger and thirst. But, according to the church, he survived for many years thanks to the magical power of the Grail.

In the Holy Chalice is placed the holy Body and Precious Blood of the Lord for the faithful to receive communion. It is made of precious metals gold or silver, decorated with special sculptural representations, resting on a wide base.
