GIFT BOXES - BAKERY CONTAINERS

On the north-east side of the Holy Step there is the niche of the Holy Intention and it symbolizes the holy cave of the Nativity of the Lord. In it, the holy Gifts are prepared, before they are taken during the Great Entrance to the Holy Altar to be sanctified.

This niche bears the representation of the Great Humiliation and rarely the image of the Nativity. In the Proposition there is the Holy Chalice, in which wine (nama) and water are combined, which will be changed into the Blood of Christ. Next to it is the Sacred Disc, on which is placed the Lamb, the piece of bread, which will be transformed into the Body of Christ, as well as other pieces from the offertory, dedicated to the Virgin, the Holy Angels, the living believers and the sleeping believers, the which are placed in the Anti-Gift-Bread Containers.

This sacred set on the disc symbolizes the Unity of the Church. On the Sacred Disc there is also the Asterisk, which symbolizes the Star of Birth and prevents the sacred covering from touching the pieces of consecrated Bread.
