APPOINTMENT CROSSES – GULF

The pectoral crosses are accessories that are worn around the neck by all the clergy of the Orthodox Church and symbolize the Cross of the Lord and his Resurrection as well as the difficult crucifixion of the clergy on the way of Christ.

The engolpium is a metal round icon with a chain which is worn by the bishops of the Orthodox Church inside and outside the liturgy and also as a distinguishing feature of their title. In the past, the priestly niches were empty on the back side to carry part of the Divine Liturgy. There are two types of sinuses. One type is those that depict the Virgin Mary holding Christ, they are called "Virgin Mary" and are worn by those who hold the third title of priesthood, i.e. the Bishops. The second type depicts Jesus blessing and holding the gospel, they are called "Christ" and are worn only by the prelates of the Orthodox Church.

The Crosses and Pockets are decorated with stones and enamels, have a chain and come with a case.
