BAKERY

The Tabernacle is placed on the Holy Altar. There is the Holy Tabernacle and the patients Tabernacle.

It is a luxurious box, hermetically sealed, in which is kept the sanctified holy Bread soaked in the holy Blood of the Lord from the divine liturgy of Maundy Thursday, which is held in memory of the Last Supper.

Artophoria are metal containers usually gold-plated. They are made in various sizes by experienced craftsmen in a manner defined by the tradition of the church. The Artoforia are decorated with Crosses and Angels of the Lord.

It is extracted on Maundy Thursday and dried to be preserved until the performance of the pre-sanctified divine liturgy. In use it is moistened to soften with common wine for those faithful who are seriously ill and unable to attend the celebration of the Eucharist or other emergencies as well as for infants after baptism.
